Should Your Vegan Shampoo Be Good Enough To Eat ?

Quinoa with its 17 Amino acids, Broccoli seed oil, Abyssinian Oil, Gold of Pleasure Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, are making their way from our plates to our hair.

We are more discerning consumers – no longer is a regular wash and dry with OK products sufficient for us any more. As we go more natural, organic and back to our roots with our food, we are tending to also do the same for our body products. This is the future.

Shea Butter

Moisturisers now have to be free of the nasties and we are seeing more paraben free, sulfate free products on the market. Why should this not extend to our hair care?

Quinoa, Broccoli Seed Oil, Abyssinian Oil.. these are now rolling off the tip of our tongue when looking for hair products for our little babies. We now look for sulphate free products. We demand paraben free shampoos and we understand the benefits of coconut oil. Not only is it important that the products are kind and gentle, we are now demanding our 5-a-day from our Shampoos and Conditioners.

Gold of Pleasure Seed Oil

The major Brands have been slow to respond to this demand and are still producing products that contain ingredients that will not make it to our plates, but thankfully parents are now opening their eyes to the nasties that exist in some everyday Shampoos and Conditioners.

Broccoli Seed Oil

Is this just a fad that will pass in time ?  No.. Healthier minds and bodies are now at the forefront of what we consider normal. The days of picking up pretty bottles and hoping for the best are long gone. We now read labels, we ‘Google’ ingredients, we ask questions, we expect more.

Since becoming a mum, my demands and expectations have changed. I am not just concerned that my son and daughter’s hair care products are kind and gentle, I am also now very aware of my ecological footprint. I look for ingredients that are natural and sustainable. I want to ensure that I do my best to create the best possible future for my brood – which now includes 3 month old twins.

We need to look after our bodies, inside and outside and if it means using shampoos that sound like you are ordering a meal from the local health food restaurant… who can say no!Remember the phrase ”you are what you eat”?  I am a believer.

CurlyEllie Vegan Shampoo

Ellie struggled with allergies for the first 3 years of her life. Seeing my little girl unable to eat the birthday cake at friends’ parties, having a specially prepared packed lunch when everyone else was gorging on sandwiches was testing, but we survived. This makes me even more conscious of what went in her mouth and went on her body.
